WHY FWR EXISTS

CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS ROBOTS BUILT FOR EXTREMES

The systems that support energy, industry, security and space increasingly depend on operations in harsh conditions where conventional robotic architectures were not designed to operate.

OUR JOURNEY

FROM RESEARCH TO DEPLOYABLE ROBOTIC PRODUCTS.

Founded as a spin-off of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, FWR translates years of robotics research into deployable products for extreme environments.
2018-2022

RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Hydrostatic transmission research established the core technology.

2022–2023

FIRST PROTOTYPES AND PATENTS
Multi-DoF prototypes validated the architecture and generated the first patents.

2024

COMPANY FOUNDATION
Fluid Wire Robotics was incorporated as a Sant’Anna spin-off and raised €1.2M in pre-seed funding..

2024–2025

ENVIRONMENTAL VALIDATION
Fluid Wire modules were tested under radiation, heat, underwater and thermal vacuum.

2025–2026

INDUSTRIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL TRACTION
FWR secured pilots, co-development programmes and institutional support.

2026–2028

PRODUCTISATION
The company is advancing qualification and early deployments.
