How you will make an impact:
At Fluid Wire Robotics, we are developing a new generation of dexterous robotic manipulators for extreme environments, from deep underwater to outer space and even radioactive zones. One of the most strategic milestones in our roadmap is the in-orbit demonstration of our Fluid Wire technology planned for 2028 and supported by the EIC Accelerator. In this role, you will help turn that objective into a real mission: defining the path from internal technology maturation to flight-ready execution. Working at the intersection of aerospace engineering, systems planning and external coordination, you will connect our technical teams with the partners, reviews and schedules that make an orbital demonstration possible. Your contribution will help ensure that the 2028 mission is well structured, on time and ready to succeed in orbit.
What you’ll do
You’ll work within our Space Division, leading the system-level planning and mission coordination needed to bring Fluid Wire technology to orbit in 2028. You’ll collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, founders and external partners, interfacing directly with the In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) service provider to define requirements, manage interfaces and keep the program aligned with mission constraints. This role combines space-systems engineering with hands-on mission management, and it requires both technical judgment and disciplined execution. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Design and structure the in-orbit demonstration mission. You will translate internal technology goals into a coherent mission concept, helping define top-level requirements, mission architecture, payload needs, major interfaces and the overall strategy to demonstrate Fluid Wire technology successfully in orbit.
- Own planning and schedule coordination for the 2028 mission. You will build and maintain the integrated activity plan, track milestones, dependencies and critical path items, and ensure that internal deliverables and external interfaces remain aligned with the target 2028 mission schedule. (*)
- Manage the relationship with the IOD service provider and other key partners. You will prepare inputs, follow up on actions, coordinate reviews and decision points, and make sure technical, programmatic and documentary exchanges are timely, clear and actionable.
- Support engineering readiness from design to operations preparation. Working with internal teams, you will help organize verification logic, documentation packages, test and integration planning, and the activities needed to reach launch, in-orbit operations and mission-success readiness. (**)
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for individuals who combine strong aerospace engineering foundations with structure, ownership and the ability to keep complex missions moving across multiple stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Studies in aerospace engineering (master’s degree required).
- 3+ years of experience in space systems engineering, mission analysis, payload development, mission management or similar roles.
- Good understanding of the space-mission lifecycle, including requirements definition, interfaces, reviews, verification and readiness milestones.
- Ability to manage planning, schedules, risks and follow-up across technical and external workstreams.
- Confidence interfacing with external providers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams toward shared deadlines.
- Very good communication skills in English, with clear technical writing and a structured, execution-oriented mindset.
Nice to Have
- (*) Experience with In-Orbit Demonstration, hosted-payload or other flight-demonstration missions involving external service providers or integrators.
- (**) Experience preparing or coordinating review and mission documentation such as requirement sets, interface documents, verification matrices, test plans or readiness packages.
- Familiarity with satellites, orbital mechanics, mission analysis or in-orbit operations concepts relevant to technology demonstrations.
- Exposure to ESA, ASI, EIC Accelerator or other publicly funded space programs.
- Experience in startup, robotics, aerospace or other deep-tech environments where speed, ownership and adaptability matter.
- Familiarity with systems-engineering and project-planning tools used for requirement tracking, scheduling and mission coordination.

At Fluid Wire Robotics, we are taking on the challenge of developing a new generation of dexterous robotic manipulators designed to operate in the most extreme environments, from deep underwater to outer space, and even in radioactive zones. One of the most strategic milestones in our roadmap is the commercialization of our Fluid Wire robot, planned for mid-2027. In this role, you will help turn that objective into a real challenge: designing hardware for our robotic arm.
What you’ll do
You’ll work within our terrestrial robotics division, and you will be responsible for the design of mechanical hardware of our robotic platforms enabling them to perform tasks in demanding environments. You’ll have hands-on access to a broad range of robotic hardware and experimental equipment to test, validate, and refine your hardware. You’ll collaborate closely with mechanical, electronics, software and automation teams to ensure cohesive, system-level development and planning. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Design and optimize fluid-wire-actuated robotic mechanisms, from concept to detailed CAD.
- Manufacture, assemble, integrate, and iterate mechanical components and prototypes.
- Integrate mechanisms into complete robotic platforms.
- Validate performance through laboratory testing and improve weak points.
- Design reliable systems for harsh environments, including high temperature, radiation, vacuum, and space.

You’ll collaborate closely with world class mechanical and electronics teams to ensure cohesive, system-level development and planning. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Bringing Fluid-Wires in Space Applications. The definition of robot API architecture and development of software for IOD of FWR technology will be the focus of the job. Through day-by-day interaction with mechatronic teams, the software will become a key component of our space robotic device.
- The integration with space vessel systems is another key aspect which allows us to perform IOD. The communication between the ground station and space vessel is crucial to send commands and receive telemetry from FWR payload.
